We have video of the new McLaren P1 taking on the Top Gear track at Dunsfold in the hands of McLaren’s F1 driver Sergio Perez. We reported from Geneva that Ron Dennis has declared he put the new McLaren P1 round Top Gear’s Dunsfold track a full 10 seconds quicker than the contentious Top Gear lap time set by the Pagani Huayra. So when McLaren sent us a video that declared their new F1 driver, Sergio Perez, had taken the P1 round Dunsfold – and here is the video – we though we might get a proper insight in to just how quick the P1 is.

Lexus LF-Xh Concept: the lowdown
Lexus will show off its latest wares on home territory at this month's 40th Tokyo Motor Show - and the big news is a preview of the next-generation RX soft-roader. The LF-Xh is longer and wider than today's car, but a full 40mm lower - suggesting the Japanese are taking cars like the forthcoming half 4x4, half coupe BMW X6 very seriously. Naturally, the next RX will build upon today's RX400h hybrid.

Completing CAR Online's hat-trick of Audi scoops is this - Ingolstadt's slinky answer to the Mercedes CLS. The A7 is due to land in showrooms in September 2009 and will be previewed by a concept at the 2008 New York Auto Show. For any manufacturer to launch a successful model against the CLS, it must turn heads like a scantily-unclad A-list catwalk model.
